Statistics have just been made public by the New Jersey State Police concerning fatal accidents in the state for the 2011 fiscal year. These statistics show a large, overall increase across the state. A small number of the 21 counties saw a decrease in fatalities for 2011, including Monmouth County.
There were 35 people who were killed in traffic accidents in Monmouth County in 2011, which is ten less fatalities than in 2010 when there were 45 deaths. Unfortunately, there were more counties with an incline in fatalities rather than a decline and the total number of fatalities for the state of New Jersey was 638.
State police are running reports in order to determine factors that could have led to the incline in fatal accidents in the state. The reports should be ready within the next few weeks and will show a detailed description of each county and their corresponding fatalities.
