Getaway car hits police officer

Posted on Thursday, January 12th, 2012 at 7:10 pm

A New Rochelle police officer and his K-9 suffered minor injuries when a getaway vehicle slammed into the unmarked police car.

Law enforcement was pursuing four suspects after they attempted to fill a forged prescription for liquid codeine. The pharmacist called the police after she suspected the prescription was fake. The suspects fled once police arrived.

All four involved in the scheme, ranging in age from 21 to 34 years-old, face felony charges of possession of a forged instrument and possession of a controlled substance. The driver faces additional charges of reckless driving and reckless endangerment.
