Nearly 137,000 pieces of kids jewelry recalled

Posted on Wednesday, July 14th, 2010 at 8:50 am

The U.S. Consumer Product and Safety Commission has announced a voluntary recall of 137,000 pieces of kids jewelry that were sold between 2008 and 2010 at Justice and Limited Too stores and online.

The recall includes 19 types of children’s bracelets, necklaces and earrings that were made in China. The items have been recalled due to toxic levels of cadmium that can cause kidney problems, bone softening and can impede brain development children.

The items are in various shapes such as heart and crowns and some say “Best,” “Friends” and or “Forever.” People who own the jewelry should stop wearing it immediately and bring it back to the store it was purchased at for refund.

If you or a loved one has been injured or become ill after using a defective product, contact the New Jersey product liability lawyers of Levinson Axelrod by calling 800-346-5529.
