Hewlett-Packard recalls 54,000 lithium-ion batteries

Posted on Thursday, June 10th, 2010 at 7:05 am

Hewlett-Packard Co. recalled about 54,000 lithium-ion batteries. According to company reports, the batteries were recalled because of a possible fire hazard.

The batteries apparently may overheat, leading to a risk of fire or burn injuries. The battery recall followed a 2009 recall when the company recalled 70,000 batteries.
