Hockey gear manufactured with lead paint recalled

Posted on Tuesday, April 6th, 2010 at 9:14 am

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of children’s hockey sticks that contain unsafe levels of lead paint.

The hockey gear, from the company Bauer Hockey Inc., contain excess levels of lead in the paint and decals on the sticks, shafts, and blades. About 67,000 units have been distributed throughout the U.S. since 2005. Most of the sticks also have the Nike symbol in addition to the Bauer label. Consumers are warned to take the products away from children immediately and to contact the company for a refund or a replacement.

Lead paint in toys puts children at risk of serious adverse effects due to lead exposure. If you or a loved one has been injured by a dangerous or defective product, contact the New Jersey product liability attorneys of Levinson and Axelrod by calling 800-346-5529 today
